    Aristotle, Alastair Cameron, A.R.N. Publications

    Audiobook (A.R.N. Publications, Aug. 7, 2017)
One of Aristotle's classics works, appropriately known as Politics, focuses on community and political organization. It was Aristotle's belief that the best way forward, was for the citizens of communities to come together, to secure a stable and self-sufficient life. In Politics, Aristotle discusses a variety of different regimes, and methods of community, organizing that would ensure success for the many, providing a convincing argument on the usefulness of Democracy. He also goes into some detail on the structures of different types of governments, including dictatorships, monarchies, and constitutional democracies. This work also examines a variety of additional subjects, including slavery, economics, and the family unit. As one of the most renowned thinkers in history, Aristotle makes it clear that he believes virtue to be more important than the acquisition of property. Politics provides good reflection for those studying the world's governments of today.

Aristotle's "Politics" is a treatise on the subject of political science and government and is considered to be one of the greatest works on the subject from classical antiquity. Expounding upon, "The Republic", the earlier work of his teacher Plato, Aristotle examines the various options for governance and their respective values. A detailed and pragmatic approach to the subject, Aristotle's "Politics" provides much of the foundation for modern political thought. — A Classic — Includes Active Table of Contents — Includes Religious IllustrationsPIETY towards Dr. Jowett, whose munificence has made possible the production of this translation of Aristotle, suggested that no new rendering of the Politics should be attempted, but that his translation should be re-issued. Much valuable work has been done, however, on the Politics since his translation was published in 1885, and of this I have endeavoured, in revising his translation, to take account, while preserving as far as possible the ease and grace of the original rendering. The revised translation is based on Immisch’s edition in the Teubner series (1909), but I have not hesitated to depart from his text where he deserts the MSS. unnecessarily, or where a better emendation seemed possible; all such departures have been indicated in the notes. In particular, I have added one more to the many attempts that have been made to emend the corrupt passage iv. 1300a 23–b 5.Aeterna Press
